Mr.
Sean Hollender spent three years in Japan. He lived in Japan from 1994 until
1997 in Miyako City, Iwate Prefecture in the northeast of the island of Honshu.
He lived and worked for the Iwate Board of Education's Miyako Branch Office
of Education as an English teacher, international relations coordinator, education
office worker and Japanese/English translator. The program sponsoring this job
was the Japan Exchange
for Teaching Program which is sponsored by the Japanese Ministry of Education
and Culture and the Council of Local Authorities for International Relations.
During this time he also received certificates in Japanese language proficiency
and Japanese language teaching through the aforementioned and other Japanese
governmental agencies.
